Customers tell us these are the highest quality and most unique beaded collars they have ever seen. The beading is done by Maasai "mamas" working in their home area. By meeting with their coordinator weekly to receive materials, the artisans can earn a living while maintaining their rural and more traditional lifestyle. Averaging one collar per day, the mamas create these original, one-of-a-kind designs.
Beads are hand sewn in leather, then an overlay of leather is glued and stitched on the back. Buckles are solid, hand-cast brass.
Available in the following Classic patterns: Cheetah, Jacaranda and Zebra (not pictured); and in three widths: 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch.
Collar lengths are from 8 to 24 inches. Leads are 4 feet long.
Leads are not recommend for dogs that pull or for dogs over 50 pounds.
**SIZING: For purchasing collars, we ask that you measure your pets neck and order based on the exact measurement plus one inch.
We try hard to fit your pet using the middle hole on the collar as the beading shows up best when it is centered. Our lengths reflect the measurement from the end of the leather at the buckle to the center hole.
